From Kristi Curtis, commenting on Garfan's "Family Affair":
"Nice effects on the vocals. Harmonies mesh nicely with leads. The mix is great. Every instrument is clear and well-balanced. Drums cymbals are crisp: Just the right amount of high end there. Lows/Mids/Highs are just right! Bass guitar sounds warm, as does the bass drum. Guitar sound is great: full-bodied mids; a warm, big sound. Guitar solo volume great! Sounds like analog, has a real, live sound! Well-placed solos.

I've Been Waiting --like the intro!

Deborah --this is the song my daughter and I were humming at different times today!!! --I liked the doubled vocals toward the end

Of Course I Do --my daughter's favorite song (my daugher, Katie, is 11)

Dwell --nice, tight drums in the intro! --like the octave singing

My Life --Katie is singing along right now

Had to Die --has a Led Zep feel

Mantrap --hope this song isn't about me! ;)

Busted --kind of a country/blues feel

Stand Up --nice backups, Dale! --GREAT solo...very melodic and smooth --another solo? with backups? cool!

The Answer --nice panning

Great album, Dale!!!"

From Gary Hall, Estes Park guitarist & composer (www.garyhall.org): "The varied and fluid guitar of Dale Hayes give a thousand textures to his music. With Garfan, Dale is surrounded by a solid group of pros, and creates moods from the flat-out heavy killer rock of "Gandalf", to the gentle and melancholy "Deborah".
